What should I expect during my consultation?
Your first appointment with us will act as the initial consultation. Here, your physiotherapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment to develop a clear understanding of your overall health and lifestyle, as well as your presenting condition. This may include but not limited to your occupation, your lifestyle, past medical history, results of past medical scans, pain presentation, aggravating factors, easing factors and goal settings.
From the results of your initial assessment, your physio will work with you to develop an individualised treatment plan for the management of your condition.
Your treatment will consist of hands-on treatment modalities, as well exercises and at-home techniques to promote self-management of your condition.
At the end of your consultation, your physio will discuss with you any follow up appointments required.
How do I prepare for my first appointment?
Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing to your appointment. Your physio will need to assess the movement and function of your condition, so please ensure clothing that provides access to the injured area.
Please bring any relevant medical information, such as your referral (if provided), and any scans or assessments of the injury (such as MRI/X-ray scans).
What will my treatment look like?
Our physiotherapists use a range of hands-on treatment methods, coupled with targeted exercise programs. Please see our services page for a full list of services. Your physiotherapist will select the most appropriate treatment modalities for your condition.
How often will I need to see the physio?
Each person and condition is different. The frequency of your appointments will be dependent on the type and severity of your injury. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you during your first appointment.
